Me and my resident visa are travelling about 18300 km, which took about 2 days of travel. I applied as a <em>depended child<\/em> in the family category.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teresamisu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2795.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2306\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teresamisu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2795.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"426\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.terezaschoice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2795.png 533w, https:\/\/www.terezaschoice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2795-480x720.png 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 426px) 100vw, 426px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A family member who is already a New Zealand citizen or resident can sponsor you to come to New Zealand if you are their:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Partner\u00a0<\/em>\u2013\u00a0you are the husband, wife, defacto or civil union partner of a New Zealand citizen or resident.<\/li>\n<li><em>Dependent child<\/em>\u2013 you are a dependent child with a parent who is a New Zealand citizen or\u00a0resident.<\/li>\n<li><em>Parent\u00a0<\/em>\u2013 you have a child who is a New Zealand citizen or\u00a0resident.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>My father lives in New Zealand for over 16 years so that&#8217;s why I could apply. I had to meet a number of requirements before I could apply for residence under the Family\u00a0Dependent Child Category.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teresamisu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2810.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2307\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teresamisu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2810.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.terezaschoice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2810.png 800w, https:\/\/www.terezaschoice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2810-480x320.png 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To apply for the residence visa I had time to apply till my 24 years, I had to be in good health (which meant a series of medical exams, blood test, X ray&#8230;) and I had to be in good character (which meant no I was never\u00a0convicted and sentenced to imprisonment, involved in illegal situations&#8230;).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teresamisu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2792.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2309\" src=\"https:\/\/www.teresamisu.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2792.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"426\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.terezaschoice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2792.png 533w, https:\/\/www.terezaschoice.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IMG_2792-480x720.png 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 426px) 100vw, 426px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All this took 6 months and I&#8217;ve got the answer of my acceptance in i think 4 months.
