What to do on rainy days in Miami

Miami in September is known for its rainy days, still most days there is a 30% chance of scattered showers. But if you see rain and wind, it kind of puts a damper on your beach plans. Our solution was shopping (of course) or trying out different variety of foods. You also have lots of entertainment centers where you can kiss the bad weather goodbye.

Our suggestions are:

  • Miami Seaquarium

This is more for kids I know, but  I think we are all kids once in a while, so it’s smart to take him out to have some fun. You can find the Seaquarium at 4400 Rickenbacker Causeway.

  • Miami Art Museum

To feed your intelectual side I suggest visiting the Miami Art Museum at 101 Flagler St.

  • Sawgrass Mills shopping mall
  • Dolphin shopping mall
  • Whole Foods

Visit Whole Foods for Breakfast or Lunch, they have an amazing choice of different bio/eco/raw products… My wonderland!

Or do as we did: 🙂

  • – Breakfast at Balans – French toast, pancakes with maple sirup, fruit and coffee. Yummy? Ohh yes!
  • – Shoe shopping at Aldo, Steve Madden and Macy’s everything situated on Lincoln rd. My friend bought killer heels, that can actually wound you, why? That’s just a little secret between me, my friend and the concrete floor.
  • – Photographing the beach in the rain while sipping a Starbucks Chai Tea Latte.
  • – Cycling in the rain.
  • – Eating the best hamburger at 5 Napkin Burger also on Lincoln Rd. In USA it’s best to order everything for one person and share it with each other. The amount of food you get is just crazy. So one Coke, one burger and one dessert and you’ll be ok 😉
  • – Next is thumbing home with a pregnant look-alike stomach.
  • – Taking an hour to shower.
  • – Going out for drinks or two or threeehehee.

Take an easy going day, no rushing and no stressing about missing the pretty sunny days. Rain can be very relaxing in Miami, so use it a 100%!
